TR Week 1 Update

Well after a couple of days of having the site up-and-running, I have still yet to accomplish anything as far as the brand and the YouTube channel are concerned. My first order of business is to create branding for the channel, website, and social media. This is usually my favorite part of building a new brand, but it's been a few months since I've really used Adobe effectively, so I'm struggling to remember how to do all the advanced stuff in Illustrator. At this point, I'm thinking of having the word "Tech" in some kind of gamer font and "Regular" be a more traditional or modern font. I like the logo I made using the Square Space logo maker, but I don't like using content that requires a tag at the bottom saying where I got it from. I also don't like taking other people's designs, so that's where my head is at this moment.
I'm also waiting on a couple items to come in to add to my office setup. Earlier this week, I ordered an NZXT Hue+ from an Amazon seller that just so happened to be Randomfrankp (so that was cool!). That said, I also had to buy a set of extension strips from NZXT since Frank was keeping his and only selling the unit itself. The unit is slated to arrive today, while the strips should be showing up on Friday.
The third piece of tech I'm adding to my setup is a Razer Blackwidow Chroma Stealth that I bought on Ebay. I've been using a Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 Stealth for the past few years, but after picking up some RGB light strips (that I plan on upgrading soon) and a Razer Naga Epic Chroma, I figured it was time to drop the solid green in favor of some fun RGB action.
Finally, my 4 year anniversary is coming up on Tuesday, and my girlfriend asked what I wanted, so I have a Philips Hue white starter kit on the way. I'm really pumped for this, since this will start taking me toward an even smarter office. At this point, I have two smart plugs in my setup that control the two surge protectors that control both my PC desk and my secondary desk. I'm also thinking that having a dedicated Amazon Echo Dot in the office will be a nice touch once I have the Hue bulbs set up (unfortunately for my wallet, I like planning to buy and buying new things). I have a lot more on my mind as far as taking the office to where I really want it, but for now things seem to be coming along nicely.
My plan is to have at least solidified my initial branding for a majority of my outlets set up within the next week or two. I also plan on getting a video together in the next few weeks that will explain what the YouTube channel will be about--similar to what my first post was about. Unfortunately that means getting reacquainted with Adobe Premiere again, which I didn't enjoy the first time around, so this may end up getting a bit messy. That said, I'm excited to have some momentum going, and I'm looking forward to creating content for all of you content consumers out there!
Have a great rest of the week everyone!
Much Love,
